Study Plan

這是今年我在老師研究室裡被拍下的照片 有那麼一點的稚嫩的感覺

Last year, I was so lucky to be selected as a member of the visit group to Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. This was also my first time to go overseas. I experienced a lot of excitements, stimulating me to review what I am doing and consider what I should improve for my future. After this visit trip, I have changed my study habits and make a plan for my future study.

What I would like to master
I am very interested in Mechanics and Mathematics. When I was a sophomore, I spend much time studying Mechanics of Materials and Advanced Engineering Mathematics. During the visit to TIT, I first participated the shaking table test contest, which quite interested me. Since I never prepared and studied so hard just for an experiment before, when our model survived after the shake of 100% Kobe earthquake, I felt the delight of achievement. This is what I am interested in, I thought. Therefore, I decided to major in Mechanics and Structural Engineering, especially in earthquake engineering, for my future study.

What I am engaged in studying in this semester.
In this semester, I take 28 credit lectures because I hope that I can finish undergraduate courses earlier so that I can study some graduate courses in my senior year. Especially, I focus on the Structure Theory II, Foundation Engineering and Steel Structural Design this semester. Moreover, I already applied for a topic research project to National Science Council. I understand that my deficiency is English ability. In fact, I did not have a good habit of studying English due to my laze, but now I know I must face it and improve my English ability. I join the NCUCE Self-paced TOEIC Learning Team, preparing TOEIC test and listening to Studio Classroom radio program every day. What’s more, we prepare an article to introduce to others and we request that all of us must ask a question from the article to train our speaking and conversation skill at group meeting. Although I have not had a big breakthrough so far, I believe I have improved a lot recently. This semester is challenging to me, because I have so many things to complete.

Be responsible for my job.
I serve as a member of academic division in Student Organization. There are still some jobs I have to accomplish, such as Teacher-Student party and construction site visit. When I was a freshman, senior schoolmates in Student Organization gave me a lot of favors and funs. Without their contributions, my life in university would have been quite boring. Therefore, I would like to serve schoolmates in our department and do a good job as a member of Student Organization as well.

Have a good patience.
It is pretty great when we have a nice dream about our future. I have many things to achieve in the future. However, sometimes, I think the more important thing is that we should have a good patience to continue doing. We can say many prospects to complete in the future, but it will be nothing if we have no decision to overcome any difficulties we encounter. “Sons, Do you think that studying is like a marathon?” my mother said, “Because the winner is the one who can resist to the last but not the one who runs fast”. Sometimes, I felt very tired because of lots of works to do and nearly gave up in this semester. But I would not like to make my decision so “cheap” that I could change my mind easily. I do not know how far I can reach, but I will try to do my best.
Stay Hungry, Stay Humble.
